Eddy Weetaluktuk is a famous painter and sculptor who was born in the village of Umiujaq. The fame of his works goes well beyond his village, and even beyond the Nunavik region. His works of art represent sometimes Inuit art, sometimes religious images. In Kuujjuarapik, you will find the works of Mr. Weetaluktuk in two places: in the old church and at the school. In the church, you can admire a large fresco representing the Christ walking on the waters of the Great Whale River. In the Asimautaq school, you can see his beautiful collection of Inuit sculptures and paintings.
