According to observers, the scenery in Kangiqsujuaq is breathtaking. Nestled in the heart of a valley, this village is also surrounded by beautiful mountains. Located a few kilometres from the Hudson Strait, Kangiqsujuaq is also the host of beautiful landscapes like the Douglas Haven Fjord and the Qikertaaluk & Qajartalik Island. Also, 88 kilometres from this village, you can visit Pungualuit, a crater that was created y a meteorite. Thanks to some government decisions, this site will soon be a regional park.
Hunting and fishing are also an integral part of this Nordic village, and the inhabitants have found a particular way to fish for mussels in winter: they dig a hole in the ice during low tide. Since there is no water under the ice, the holes are just large enough for Inuit to edge their way into them and to collect mussels!
