Ivujivik, where 274 people live, is Nunavik's and Quebec's northernmost village. Since the village is 525 km2, the inhabitants have enough space to do all their activities, whether it is handicrafts, sculpture, fishing or hunting. Here, tides are sometimes high and raging, which prevents ice from forming. This situation thus allows hunters to do their favourite activity year round. They normally hunt for seals, walruses and belugas. In addition, there is an important migratory route near the village, between the Hudson Bay and the Hudson Strait.
