Akulivik is a small village where 400 inhabitants live on a 558-km2 territory stretching along a peninsula. This peninsula, which juts out into the Hudson Bay between two rivers, has the shape of a kakivak, a trident-shape Inuit harpoon. The region is dotted with many lakes and thus abounds with fish. In the area, you can, of course, fish, but also do some handicrafts and sculpt in steatite, a stone that has been used for thousands of years now. Not far from Akulivik, on Smith Island, hunters will discover a choice location for hunting.
