This area of the Nunavik region represents Quebec’s hat. These villages, even though they are not the northernmost ones in the country, are for sure the villages located in the northernmost part of the province of Quebec. Since the latitudes are above the 60th parallel in this area, the highest temperatures in summer are around 5oC. In winter, the average temperature is around -25oC. This land is closer to glaciers and icebergs, but more specifically to the Arctic Circle. Of course, it is colder in this area, but once well dressed, you will have the chance to let yourself be astonished by the outstanding scenery. The crater in the parc national des Pingualuit is worth the detour in itself. You can also visit one of the five villages (Puvirnituq, Akulivik, Ivajivik, Salluit et Kangiqsujuaq), which all conceal their own treasures.
